Combat and Facing
Miniatures have facing on the hex board, and attack and defense cards cover arcs determined by which hand slot the weapon or shield occupies.
Facing
Each miniature on the board has a facing. Position alone does not determine what a fighter can reach or defend against — orientation does.
Arcs
- Attack and defense cards have arcs.
- An arc is tied to which hand slot the weapon or shield occupies in the loadout — see Loadout and Setup.
- Example: a weapon in the right hand can attack the forward and right hex.
Unresolved
Three facing and arc questions are open — see Open Questions:
- Whether two-handed weapons occupy both hand slots in exchange for a wider arc or higher damage.
- Whether shields block an arc rather than attack it, or can do both.
- Whether changing facing costs a second or a card, or is free with movement.
