Water and Prestige
Two economies drive every fight: water keeps a fighter alive, prestige wins the crowd. They live at opposite ends of the arena.
Water
- Water is the resource that pays for cards. Each card shows its cost in water (top-right corner, in water drops).
- Water is only paid at the end of the round, during the water debt phase — never mid-round. Damage is the only thing that resolves in real time.
- Every card played lands in the water debt pile: instant cards go straight there on play; duration cards go there when they expire off the burn-down track.
- Water is refilled at the edge of the map — see Board and Movement.
Water debt — end of round
- At the end of the round, total the water costs in the debt pile — that is the water debt — and pay it from your water supply.
- If you can't pay your debt, you are on your last legs.
- After paying, the debt pile goes to the discard pile.
- Whether last legs can be recovered (e.g. by paying the debt late) is unresolved — see Open Questions.
Prestige
- Prestige is the score. The theme of the game: entertain the crowd, don't die.
- Holding the center hex earns the most prestige.
- Fighting in the outer ring is frowned upon — the crowd wants a show, not a marathon.
- Cards carry prestige points (bottom-right corner). Attacks earn more; so do fancy flips.
- How prestige converts to victory is unresolved — see Open Questions.
